Philanthropy and Partnership Manager

Position Summary:

The Philanthropy/Partnership Manager works with Samaritan Village Inc. Board of Directors, leadership, and development team to implement the philanthropic vision and coordinate the strategic charitable gifting strategies, policies, performance measures, and reporting to execute fundraising initiatives successfully. The Philanthropy Manager is the staff assigned to the External Committee of the Board.

This leadership position must provide a positive, compassionate, and ambitious approach that collaborates with the leadership team in all aspects of the gift cycle, expanding fundraising capacity, managing donor relations, cultivating current and soliciting new donors, corporate giving, major gifts, special events, campaigns, and creating timely and effective stewardship. The role assumes direct management of the Marketing and Engagement Specialist.

Position Responsibilities:

FUNDRAISING & PARTNERSHIP (60%)

  • Assist Executive Director with working with Board of Directors and External Committee to design and implement strategies for fund development (i.e. Corporate Sponsorship, Individual Gifts, Foundations, DAF, and Grants)
  • Collaborates with partners and leadership to drive revenue growth by cultivating and building relationships and identifying new partnerships, to meet the organization’s annual budget.
  • Develops and recommends charitable giving, donor recognition, stewardship strategies, and tactical plans; collaborates with the development team to execute plans that support SVI’s long-term financial health and program goals through legacy investments.
  • Lead and support the development team in donor communication, special events, organization speaking engagements, and fundraising.
  • Assist Executive Director with updating and implementing the fundraising plan for SVI annually.
  • Effectively communicate all strategies, plans, policies, and procedures to staff and team.
  • Assist Executive Director in the community as an ambassador for our mission through various activities designed to develop and enhance donor and community relationships.
  • Manage maintenance and upkeep of CRM system.
  • Provide leadership oversight and direction to the Marketing & Engagement Specialist (M.E.S.) with volunteer engagement, marketing, and administrative responsibilities.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

EVENT MANAGEMENT (30%)

  • Develop and implement (in conjunction with the leadership and committee members) all donor events including Spring Fundraiser, Fall Fundraiser, End of the Year Campaign, and potential future events.
  • Implement all events on time and within budget.
  • Implement metrics to measure the success of events and drives.

GRANT WRITING & CULTIVATION (10%)

  • Acts as primary liaison between Samaritan Village and external grant writer, supporting all aspects of grant writing, tracking, and management reporting.
  • Work with grant writer to keep informed and report to leadership the status of current and potential grants.

  • Exhibit excellent writing skills, effective comprehension, and engagement skills with the ability to foster and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Be a self-starter and goal-driven; take initiative, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines. MUST be proactive and detail-oriented.

Education and Experience:

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Philanthropy, Nonprofit Management, Public Relations and/or related field with a minimum of three (3) years experience in fundraising, major gifts, campaigns large event planning experience within a supervisory capacity.
  • Experience in fundraising and event planning.
  • Knowledge about trauma-informed care, human trafficking, sexual exploitation, or human services preferred.
  • Experience in conducting research, gathering data, analyzing information, and preparing effective, accurate, timely reports and other documents to support development objectives.
  • Computer experience should include CRM software, donor databases, Google Workspace, and Microsoft Office.
  • Flexibility and willingness to adjust work days and hours to accommodate events and leadership coverage as needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $67,000.00 – $70,000.00 per year
